About The Position

This position is a truck-based, mobile technician role responsible for performing preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC systems, water chillers, and various mechanical, plumbing, and electrical building systems. You'll travel to different commercial properties within a specified region, work independently with minimal supervision, and identify energy-saving opportunities while maintaining facilities in peak operational condition.

Requirements

  • Valid state driver's license
  • Minimum 5 years of technical experience in all aspects of building engineering
  • Strong background in packaged HVAC, plumbing, and electrical equipment repair
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Universal EPA 608 Certification
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and web-based applications
  • Ability to use tablets, laptops, and mobile devices for work order management
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and occasionally up to 100 pounds
  • Comfort working at heights up to 30 feet on ladders
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of overall MEP/HVAC system design and application
  • Experience managing work orders using CMMS technology
  • Previous service-related role experience specific to commercial facilities
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Self-starter mentality with strong interpersonal skills and positive attitude

Responsibilities

  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting commercial HVAC systems including pumps, motors, air handlers, and controls
  • Performing preventive maintenance on building mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance
  • Executing basic plumbing and electrical repairs in compliance with applicable codes and regulations
  • Identifying and implementing energy-saving opportunities through system and operational improvements
  • Managing work orders through computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • Communicating effectively with team members, contractors, building occupants, and clients
  • Operating in various environmental conditions, from mechanical rooms to outdoor settings
