About The Position

Hotel Effie, Autograph Collection is seeking an experienced and energetic Lead Housekeeping Supervisor to help oversee the daily operations of our Housekeeping Department. The Lead Housekeeping Supervisor is a hands-on leader responsible for directing Housekeeping Supervisors, Room Attendants, House Attendants, and other housekeeping team members throughout the daily operation. This position ensures guest rooms and public areas are cleaned, inspected, and maintained to the high standards expected of a luxury Autograph Collection hotel. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, guest-focused, and able to lead a team in a fast-paced resort environment. This individual should be comfortable working alongside the housekeeping team, inspecting rooms, solving problems, and providing direction throughout the day.

Requirements

  • Previous hotel or resort housekeeping experience required.
  • Strong understanding of guest room cleaning and inspection standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 1–2 years of housekeeping supervisory or lead experience in a hotel, resort, or hospitality environment preferred.
  • Luxury hotel or Marriott experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with overseeing the daily operation of the Housekeeping Department.
  • Help coordinate daily room assignments, priorities, staffing, and workload.
  • Monitor room status and communicate closely with Front Office regarding room readiness.
  • Assign and direct housekeeping employees based on occupancy, arrivals, departures, VIPs, and operational needs.
  • Monitor the progress of Room Attendants and House Attendants throughout the day.
  • Ensure guest rooms, hallways, public areas, and assigned areas are cleaned according to Hotel Effie and Marriott standards.
  • Assist with prioritizing rooms that require immediate attention.
  • Respond to operational issues and provide hands-on support when needed.
  • Ensure housekeeping employees have the supplies, equipment, and information necessary to perform their jobs effectively.
  • Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms and public areas.
  • Ensure rooms meet luxury hotel standards for cleanliness, presentation, and amenities.
  • Identify deficiencies and communicate corrections to Room Attendants and Supervisors.
  • Re-inspect rooms when necessary to ensure corrections have been completed.
  • Monitor common housekeeping issues and communicate trends to the Housekeeping Manager.
  • Ensure VIP, special request, and priority rooms receive appropriate attention.
  • Help prepare the hotel for high occupancy periods, group arrivals, special events, and VIP guests.
  • Provide daily direction, coaching, and support to housekeeping employees.
  • Lead by example and maintain a professional, positive, and team-oriented work environment.
  • Assist with training new Room Attendants, House Attendants, and other housekeeping employees.
  • Reinforce proper cleaning procedures, hotel standards, safety practices, and guest service expectations.
  • Monitor employee performance, attendance, appearance, productivity, and adherence to department standards.
  • Provide feedback and communicate performance concerns to the Housekeeping Manager.
  • Recognize employees who demonstrate exceptional performance and guest service.
  • Help ensure adequate coverage throughout the department.
  • Maintain a strong guest-first approach at all times.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to housekeeping-related guest requests and concerns.
  • Follow up on guest concerns to ensure they are resolved appropriately.
  • Work closely with Front Office to address guest room concerns and special requests.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and hospitality when interacting with guests throughout the hotel.
  • Look for opportunities to exceed guest expectations.
  • Maintain clear communication with Housekeeping leadership and team members throughout each shift.
  • Communicate room status and operational issues to Front Office.
  • Report maintenance concerns to Engineering promptly.
  • Communicate lost and found items according to hotel procedures.
  • Report supply, linen, equipment, and staffing needs to the Housekeeping Manager.
  • Participate in daily housekeeping meetings and department briefings.
  • Communicate important information between shifts to ensure continuity of operations.
  • Monitor housekeeping supplies, linens, amenities, and equipment throughout the shift.
  • Help maintain appropriate supply levels and report shortages.
  • Ensure housekeeping equipment is used safely and properly.
  • Report damaged or malfunctioning equipment.
  • Ensure employees follow proper chemical handling and safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe housekeeping work environment.
  • Follow all hotel safety policies and procedures.
