About The Position

The lead housekeeper functions as a housekeeper and is also responsible for supervising the housekeeping team, ensuring cleanliness standards, training staff, and coordinating with other departments to maintain a welcoming environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Ability to follow instructions and perform tasks independently.
Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull heavy carts up to 100lbs.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.

Nice To Haves

Previous housekeeping, janitorial, or environmental services experience in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

Oversee the housekeeping staff, assigning tasks and ensuring that all cleaning and maintenance duties are performed to the highest standards.
Coordinate with other departments, such as front desk and maintenance, to ensure smooth operations.
Train new housekeeping staff on proper cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and the use of cleaning chemicals, providing ongoing support and guidance.
Inspect rooms and common areas for cleanliness and proper setup, addressing any issues or deficiencies immediately.
Manage the inventory of cleaning supplies and linens, placing orders as necessary to maintain adequate stock levels.
Ensure that all cleaning equipment is safe and well-maintained.
Handle guest complaints related to housekeeping services, taking immediate action to resolve issues to the guest’s satisfaction.
Interact with other hospital staff members, visitors, and patients in a friendly, cooperative manner.
Maintain records on staff performance, guest satisfaction levels, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
Set up staff schedules and manage overtime hours as needed.
