About The Position

Karbach Brewing Company is looking for a dynamic and hospitality-driven Lead Host to join the team at Karbach Restaurant & Patio. As the Lead Host, you are the face of our restaurant and the quarterback of the front door. You set the tone for every guest experience—welcoming guests in, managing the flow of the dining room, and ensuring smooth communication between the front-of-house team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a high-energy, fast-paced environment, enjoys leading a team, and takes pride in delivering exceptional hospitality.

Requirements

• Previous host or front-of-house experience required; leadership experience preferred
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask and stay composed in a high-volume environment
• Positive attitude with a guest-first mindset
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
• Ability to stand and move for extended periods

Responsibilities

• Greet and acknowledge every guest with energy and professionalism
• Create a welcoming, organized, and engaging first impression
• Guide guests through seating options across the restaurant and patio
• Handle guest questions, concerns, and special requests with confidence
• Own and manage the waitlist, providing accurate and realistic wait times
• Control the pace of seating to support both service flow and kitchen efficiency
• Maintain awareness of table status, server sections, and overall restaurant volume
• Balance seating to ensure strong, consistent service across all areas
• Lead the host stand and set the tone for urgency, hospitality, and professionalism
• Act as the communication hub between hosts, servers, bartenders, and support staff
• Step in to assist with bussing, running food, or guest needs during peak times
• Help resolve guest concerns and partner with management when needed
• Confidently speak to Karbach’s food menu, craft beers, and retail offerings
• Promote to-go orders, packaged beer, and retail merchandise
• Enhance the guest experience through thoughtful recommendations and brand knowledge
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked host stand
• Answer phones promptly and professionally
• Take and manage to-go orders (phone and in-person), quoting accurate pickup times
• Communicate menu updates, limited items, and 86’d products to guests and team members
