About The Position

The Post Oak Hotel is seeking a Lead Host/Hostess to join the only Forbes Five-Star Hotel in Texas. We hire passionate and professional colleagues who genuinely delight our guests through curated and authentic experiences. The Lead Host/Hostess will be responsible for greeting and welcoming guests according to Forbes’ standards for hotel dining and reservations, providing exemplary introduction to the Bloom & Bee restaurant as well as leading the team of hostess in their role duties.

Requirements

  • Aspire to our values of being passionate, strive for excellence, remain relevant, collaborate and act with honor and integrity
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience preferred 5-star hotel setting, as a lead hostess.
  • Must have a working knowledge of Open Table and other data tracking tools.
  • Excellent communication skills and problem resolution experience.
  • Perform side work duties to ensure tables are ready for arrivals.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays is required

Nice To Haves

  • Previous hotel experience, luxury or Forbes experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain expert knowledge of restaurant operations, including private dining, patio setups, full buyouts, and reservation systems.
  • Train and onboard new hostesses, ensuring adherence to service standards, phone etiquette, and reservation procedures.
  • Manage and optimize reservation systems (e.g., OpenTable) to maximize seating efficiency and occupancy.
  • Oversee menu updates, including new and promotional offerings, ensuring accuracy across platforms and materials.
  • Coordinate with events teams by handling inquiries and sending follow-up communications to potential clients.
  • Organize seating arrangements for standard and special group needs, including table setups and arrangements.
  • Ensure menus and front-of-house areas are clean, current, well-stocked, and maintained to high standards.
  • Monitor dining room operations, including seating flow, guest safety, and overall service quality.
  • Uphold performance excellence standards (e.g., Forbes Five-Star) and maintain strong communication and professionalism across the team.
