About The Position

Lead Hardware Subsystems Engineer Company: The Boeing Company The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking a Lead Hardware Subsystems Engineer to work in the El Segundo, CA location. Boeing's SI&WS (Space Intelligence and Weapons Systems) manages the company's major commercial and government satellite and ground programs for communications, national defense and other missions. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the El Segundo, CA, location. This worksite participates in Boeing’s optional 9/80 schedule rotation. 9/80 is a rotation in which employees can work 9 hour shifts, 8 days per pay period (bi-weekly) and receive every other Friday off. This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • Experience in RF/Digital engineering
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment.
  • An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
  • This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements.
  • To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required.
  • “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

  • 10 or more years of experience in RF/Microwave engineering
  • Experience with digital circuit design
  • Knowledge of FPGAs/ASICs
  • System engineering experience
  • Master of Science in Engineering
  • Prior Aerospace experience
  • Active TS/SCI clearance

Responsibilities

  • Leads work with customers to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements.
  • Oversees the design and build of multiple satellite and avionics units.
  • Leads and coordinates work to analyze and translate requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications.
  • Leads work to test and validate to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.
  • Oversees the team that monitors supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements.
  • Solves problems concerning and provides other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.
  • Researches technology advances for potential application to company business needs.
  • Makes recommendations for technology investments.
