About The Position

TransX has an exciting opportunity for a Dock Lead hand in our Mississauga Terminal. This role involves coordinating the efficient unloading of inbound shipments, orderly stacking of product, and the picking and staging of outbound shipments. The Lead Hand will ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and damage-free, and maintain a clean and orderly work area. They will also be responsible for training new hires and acting as a team leader in the warehouse, assisting wherever needed. The position requires loading/unloading of various freight types and will provide training to cover foreman duties when needed. A key aspect of the role is ensuring all employees follow safety policies and procedures.

• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated conflict resolution skills
• Familiarity with computers and material handling equipment is essential
• Must be able to work in a refrigerated environment
• Frequent walking, standing, squatting, twisting and bending
• Frequent opening and closing of dock doors
• Occasional lifting/pushing/dragging of product for order auditing purposes

Nice To Haves

• Previous supervisory experience would be considered a strong asset

Responsibilities

• Strong Forklift skill set. Loading LTL in cross dock environment.
• Assisting Supervisor to coordinate the most efficient unloading of inbound shipments, orderly stacking of product, and the picking and staging of outbound shipments
• Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and damage free
• Ensure efficient and safe operation of all material handling equipment
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area
• Responsible for taking new hires through training package
• Team leader in the warehouse assisting wherever needed
• Loading/unloading of trailers including dry, fresh and frozen freight
• Will be trained to cover foreman duties when needed
• Ensure all employees follow all safety policies and procedures
