Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety protocols and maintain a hazard-free work environment.
  • Enforce safe working methods and behaviors within the team.
  • Conduct safety audits and warehouse checks.
  • Make sure everyone meets safety standards.
  • Respond to emergencies as required.
  • Lead the unloading of the truck, ensuring team efficiency and enforcing safety measures.
  • Motivate and lead sorters; be their point of reference.
  • Mentor and support Package Handlers during the sort process.
  • Coach and mentor warehouse associates, including training new hires.
  • Respond quickly to requests for changes and unforeseen events.
  • Forward special cases to supervisors or managers.
  • Perform related tasks assigned by supervisors.
  • Support the supervision of sorting, scanning, and processing packages (including defective items and returns).
  • Setup sorting layout.
  • Assist with sorting packages and envelopes as needed.
  • Assign labour and manage workforce deployment as required.
  • Perform data entry as needed.
  • Unload trailers and verify freight against manifests.
  • Unloading and loading of pallets.
  • Handle driver credentials, BOL (Bill of Lading) exchange, and secure docking.
  • Ensure warehouse cleanliness and organization.
  • Other duties as assigned
