About The Position

The Lead General Technician plays a critical role in overseeing and executing a wide range of technical maintenance, repair, and installation tasks across various systems and equipment. This position ensures operational efficiency and safety by leading a team of technicians, coordinating daily activities, and troubleshooting complex technical issues. The Lead General Technician acts as a key liaison between management and technical staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to industry standards. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying potential problems and implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime and optimize performance. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in a relevant field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a general technician role with demonstrated leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems maintenance and repair.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various job sites within the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in HVAC, electrical, or industrial maintenance technologies.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Familiarity with safety regulations such as OSHA standards.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or lead technician role.
  • Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic skills using specialized tools and software.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a team of general technicians in performing maintenance, repair, and installation tasks on mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex technical issues, providing effective solutions to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Coordinate daily work schedules, assign tasks, and ensure compliance with safety protocols and quality standards.
  • Train and mentor junior technicians to enhance their technical skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with management to develop maintenance plans, improve processes, and implement new technologies.
