Lead Full-Stack Software Engineer (Remote)
About The Position
As a Lead Full-Stack Software Engineer, you will design, lead, and guide the engineering direction of internal web solutions for US Customer Solutions. You will set engineering standards, mentor junior engineers, own system architecture, and remain hands-on with critical builds and AI-powered feature development. You will partner with business stakeholders and data engineering to deliver scalable, reliable solutions while balancing development, team leadership, architectural influence, and innovation. The role includes leading greenfield full-stack application development, modernizing legacy applications into Flask and Next.js, partnering on ETL pipeline modernization, and supporting the maintenance and reliability of assigned applications. You will also serve as a technical escalation point for production issues and improve the performance, reliability, and maintainability of core applications. The position is remote and includes 10% travel.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of full-stack software engineering experience.
- Proven experience leading the design and development of production-grade web applications using Flask, React, and Next.js, with and without GenAI coding tools such as Claude Code and Cursor.
- Strong skills in SQL design, Postgres, performance tuning, and Azure-based services, including AI-powered features.
- Application Security – Intra and SD element experience.
- Experience mentoring and developing engineers.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with agentic development, AI automation, GitHub Actions, and CI/CD.
- Experience with Python, Databricks, and cloud-native architecture.
- Experience designing and deploying AI-powered features into commercial applications.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, especially in commercial or MedTech environments.
Responsibilities
- Design and lead the architecture of modern, scalable full-stack applications.
- Provide technical guidance, conduct code reviews, and mentor junior engineers.
- Lead integration of AI-powered features into existing and new applications.
- Collaborate with product and business stakeholders to align engineering solutions with business objectives.
- Lead design, development, testing, and deployment of greenfield full-stack applications.
- Drive modernization efforts by migrating and redesigning legacy applications into Flask and Next.js.
- Partner with the data engineering team to modernize ETL pipelines.
- Support maintenance, enhancements, and upgrades of assigned applications.
- Act as a technical escalation point for production issues.
- Oversee and improve the performance, reliability, and maintainability of core applications.
