About The Position

As the Lead Front Door Waste Technician, you'll oversee daily front‑door waste operations, ensure high service quality, and support the onsite team in keeping the community clean, safe, and well‑maintained. You’ll serve as the primary point of contact for property staff and help guide the work of other technicians.

Requirements

  • 1+ of experience in waste services, facilities, or a customer‑focused environment
  • Knowledge of EPA and OSHA regulations related to waste handling and safety
  • Strong communication and customer service skills; bilingual ability is a plus
  • Ability to lead and support a small team in day‑to‑day operations
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions and operate basic equipment
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and tolerate strong odors
  • Physical ability to climb stairs, walk long distances, and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Valid Class E driver’s license and ability to drive locally as needed
  • Personal smartphone (Android 2.2+ or iPhone iOS 4.3+) with data plan and active email for documentation

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily direction, guidance, and support to Front Door Waste Technicians.
  • Monitor route completion, productivity standards, and overall service quality.
  • Train new team members on procedures, safety practices, and customer service expectations.
  • Serve as the onsite escalation point for questions, service issues, and resident interactions.
  • Ensure all team members follow EPA, OSHA, and company safety policies.
  • Perform the full waste collection process, including collecting bags, loading carts, transferring waste into designated vehicles, and disposing of waste into onsite compactors or containers.
  • Safely operate compactors and clear obstructions or debris as needed.
  • Support complex or high‑volume routes as required.
  • Oversee and participate in cleaning of compactor areas, sidewalks, parking lots, and common spaces.
  • Identify and address improper waste disposal across the community.
  • Ensure all waste stations (dog pods, pool areas, mail kiosks, etc.) are serviced regularly and properly.
  • Communicate professionally with residents, property staff, and management daily.
  • Oversee documentation and reporting in the mobile application, ensuring team compliance.
  • Submit accurate shift logs, photos, and service updates.
  • Report equipment issues, safety concerns, or route challenges promptly.
