Lead, Freight
About The Position
Sandvik Mining & Rock is seeking a Lead, Freight to provide safe, cost-effective global transportation services across all service modes. This role involves the management and continuous improvement of transportation providers to reduce costs and improve service. The Lead, Freight will also conduct monthly carrier performance analysis, assist in carrier sourcing and selection, develop cost-saving initiatives, act as a liaison between carriers and operations, and support the creation and implementation of processes. Additionally, this position will review international documentation, support carrier implementations for TMS, resolve global transportation issues, align with regional/global teams on improvement initiatives, and manage freight invoice audits and disputes.
Requirements
- 5 -7 years’ experience in a Global Supply Chain Environment with a strong focus on transportation.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent, ideally in a business or supply chain discipline.
- English Proficiency: Advanced (CEFR C1/ Completed EF level 12)
- Ability to travel regionally if required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

- Experience in Blue Yonder TMS/WMS and SAP preferred
- Experience working with cross cultural workgroups
- Experience in management change
- Experience in coaching and training in the subject matter
- Strong subject matter expertise in the following Order to delivery process
- Global Import/Export processes
- Supply Chain data analytics
Responsibilities
- Conduct monthly carrier performance analysis and review
- Assist in carrier sourcing, selection and execution planning
- Develop and/or support cost savings initiatives in conjunction with logistics operations
- Liaison between carrier and operations for issue resolution
- Process creation and implementation
- Review of international documentation as needed
- Support full scope of carrier implementations for TMS
- Resolve global transportation issues with carriers and brokers
- Alignment with regional/global teams on improvement initiatives
- Freight invoice audit and invoice dispute management
