About The Position

Plastipak is seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to join their team as a Lead Forklift Operator. This role involves setting an example for other operators, guiding them to success, and ensuring excellent forklift operations. The position is located in Jackson Center, OH, and is a night shift role from 5:00 pm to 5:10 am, with 12-hour shifts on a rotating 2-week cycle. This schedule includes 3 days on the first week and 4 days on the second week, with every other weekend off. The Lead Forklift Operator will coordinate work assignments, provide on-the-job training and mentoring, and develop leadership skills for future promotional opportunities.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
At least 3 years of forklift operation and warehouse experience in a manufacturing work environment.
Proficiency using a computer system performing tasks, including data entry, completing transactions, retrieving and updating documents.
Proficiency using an RF scanner.
Experience providing on-the-job training & task guidance to others.
Past experience that demonstrates your leadership potential (this can be through work or other experience).
Ability to lift & move up to 50 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

SAP experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Working alongside the team, set the example of excellent forklift operations in the transport of raw materials & finished goods between the warehouse & production areas.
Coordinate Forklift Operator / Material Handler work assignments to uphold safety, quality and productivity standards.
Provide on-the-job training and mentoring for new hires and experienced team members.
