About The Position

This position is working inside a jail/correctional facility at the Onslow County Jail. The Lead Food Service Worker prepares and serves a variety of food items following assigned work instructions and menus within a correctional setting. You will report to a Food Service Director. This position is located onsite inside of a jail/correctional facility.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED and/or equivalent experience.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to stand for long periods of time.

Nice To Haves

Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Prepare and assist team members in the preparation of quality foods according to the planned menu, recipes, and work instructions promptly.
Cleaning as you go and maintaining a neat and food safe workstation, which you will clean and maintain. These responsibilities also include pulling trash, sweeping, and mopping.
Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures.
Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook food according to recipes.
Abide by all food safety regulations about sanitation, food handling and storage.
Perform routine kitchen tasks, while being organized and clean.
Other responsibilities as determined by our needs.
