Lead FinOps Specialist
About The Position
Cloud is at the heart of OpenText’s innovation and transformation, and as a Lead FinOps Specialist, you will play a key role in maximizing the value of our cloud investments across AWS, Azure, and GCP. This highly visible position combines financial expertise, technical insight, and strategic influence, empowering you to partner with Development, Finance, and leadership teams to drive smarter decisions, improve forecasting, optimize spending, and strengthen cloud governance. More than managing cloud costs, you’ll help turn our multi-cloud environment into a strategic business advantage while delivering measurable impact across the organization.
Requirements
- 8–12+ years (Senior) or 12–15+ years (Principal) in cloud financial management (FinOps experience)
- Hands-on experience managing spend across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP (Multi-cloud expertise)
- Ability to influence Engineering, Finance, and Procurement (Cross-functional leadership)
- Deep understanding of cloud billing constructs and optimization levers (Cloud pricing knowledge)
- Strong forecasting, budgeting, and analytical capabilities (Financial modeling)
- Experience with cloud cost management platforms (FinOps tooling)
- Advanced Excel, SQL, and/or BI tools (Data skills)
- Ability to translate cloud consumption into business insights (Executive communication)
- Proven ability to drive adoption of new processes (Change leadership)
- Ability to shape long-term FinOps strategy and maturity (Strategic thinking)
Responsibilities
- Lead enterprise-wide initiatives to reduce waste and improve efficiency
- Drive rightsizing, storage optimization, and commitment strategies
- Build and maintain cloud spend forecasts and variance analysis
- Partner with FP&A to tie cloud spend to financial plans
- Implement proactive controls and alerts for cost anomalies
- Design and operationalize showback/chargeback frameworks
- Establish and enforce tagging standards
- Define policies, guardrails, and KPI-driven processes for FinOps
- Embed cost-aware practices across engineering and product teams
- Deliver dashboards, KPIs, and strategic recommendations to executives
