About The Position

Eaton’s Critical Power Solutions (CPS) Division is seeking a Lead Field Service Electronics Technician to join their team. This role provides on-site support, offering emergency repairs, start-up services, and preventative maintenance for advanced UPS systems, batteries, and power distribution solutions. The technician will act as a trusted advisor to customers, delivering innovative solutions and technical expertise to safeguard operations and maximize uptime.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Two (2) years of power systems, battery technologies and/or electronics experience including relevant coursework and internship experience.
  • This role is designated as a Regular Driver per Eaton’s Driver Safety Policy and requires a current, unrestricted driver’s license along with a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record.
  • Must undergo and pass customer entrance requirements as needed, which may include, but is not limited to, periodic background checks and drug screenings.
  • Daily travel to customer sites is required, utilizing an Eaton-provided fleet vehicle.
  • Ability to read electrical component schematic drawings and apply troubleshooting, testing, and repair techniques.
  • Strong understanding of electrical theory, battery systems, and single- and three-phase circuits.
  • Strictly follow company/customer safety rules for a secure work environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in electrical or electronics from an accredited institution, current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree engineering program at an accredited institution or applicable military training and experience.
  • Three (3)+ years experience working with power systems, battery technologies and/or electronics.
  • Electrical Technology Certificate.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site support, offering emergency repairs, start-up services, and preventative maintenance.
  • Ensure peak performance and reliability of power systems.
  • Partner with customers as trusted advisors, delivering innovative solutions and technical expertise.
  • Safeguard operations and maximize uptime.
  • Collaborate with Field Service Technicians, taking direction from on-site leads.
  • Provide support for customer needs outside the immediate region within the USA for a minimum of three (3) weeks per quarter.
  • Perform physical tasks as needed, including assisted lifting/carrying 50+ lbs., pushing/pulling, standing for extended periods, climbing, squatting, bending, kneeling, and driving long distances.
