About The Position

A Lead Field Project Engineer is required for a power-generation equipment role supporting field erection, commissioning and warranty activity across complex engineering projects. This is a hybrid position based in Fenton, MO, depending on business needs, with domestic and international travel up to 20%. The Lead Field Project Engineer will act as a key technical contact during the field stage of projects, coordinating urgent support between internal engineering teams, suppliers and customer-side construction teams.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in an engineering, technical or project execution role within a related field.
  • On-site construction, erection or commissioning experience.
  • Experience as a Lead Field Project Engineer, Field Project Engineer, Project Engineer, Technical Project Engineer or similar engineering role.
  • General knowledge of boiler and steel construction codes such as ASME, ASTM and AISC.
  • Ability to review and understand contract specifications, supplier drawings and technical documents.
  • Experience acting as a technical lead and point of contact for customers, contractors or suppliers.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to assess technical queries, cost impact and schedule impact.
  • BS degree in Engineering or a suitable four-year degree.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical field support from equipment delivery through to the end of the warranty period.
  • Act as the technical point of contact for customer-side field teams, erection contractors and suppliers.
  • Coordinate timely responses to field issues using support from project engineering, suppliers and internal disciplines.
  • Review and interpret contract specifications, supplier drawings and technical documentation.
  • Make field-related decisions with awareness of cost, schedule, quality and project risk.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships through clear technical communication and responsive support.
  • Work closely with field technical advisers at job sites to resolve technical and logistics issues.
  • Support field erection and commissioning activity for boiler and power-generation equipment projects.
