About The Position

Nooter/Eriksen is seeking a Lead Field Project Engineer to join their Project Engineering Team. This role is responsible for coordinating project activities internally, with suppliers, and externally with the customer's field construction team during the field erection/commissioning period. This position is located in Fenton, MO, and is expected to be a hybrid role depending on business needs. The role offers the opportunity to directly impact the efficiency and reliability of modern power generation systems, optimizing combined cycle plant performance and shaping the future of energy technology.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in an engineering/technical role or project execution role in a related field, including on-site construction/erection experience.
  • General Knowledge of applicable boiler and steel construction codes (ASME/ASTM/AISC/Etc.)
  • Skill in review/understanding of Contract Specifications
  • Proficient Critical Thinking Skills - Strong ability to discern technical queries and defer as needed; Understand cost & schedule impacts and act accordingly
  • Proficient review and understanding of supplier drawing and technical documents
  • BS Degree in Engineering, or suitable 4-yr degree
  • Strong ability to multi-task proficiently and properly maintain priorities
  • Ability to read, write, problem solve, make quick decisions, interpret data and analyze results; effective written and verbal communication is essential.
  • Domestic and international travel up to 20% required for this role.

Nice To Haves

  • SQL/VBA database training/experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer/erector technical support from delivery through the end of the Warranty Period, referring to the Project Manager only as needed for major issues and for commercial discussions with the Customer.
  • Maintain constant contact with NE Field Technical Adviser (FTA) at the jobsite, as well as the customer's erection contractor to resolve technical and logistics field issues as they arise.
  • Coordinate timely responses with support as needed from suppliers and appropriate project team disciplines.
  • Make decisions on cost and schedule with respect to correcting issues in the field.
  • Maintain customer relationships through quality support while minimizing costs and risk to Nooter/Eriksen.
  • Lead and coordinate with internal/subcontract/detail resources for urgent support.
  • Act as technical lead and point of contact for customer/erector and supply base.
