About The Position

Our broad objectives center on the continual development and improvement of petroleum refining, petrochemical, gas production, energy and chemical production technology. There is an immediate opening for a Mechanical Equipment and FEA Specialist in the Process Equipment Skill Center within the Process Technology & Equipment SBU. The Mechanical Equipment and Modeling Specialist is a key technical position focused on the practical application of solid mechanics theory through Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and other calculation methods for supporting the mechanical design and analysis of pressure vessels, specialty process equipment, internals, and piping system components. Specific areas include elastic and creep plastic stress analysis, thermal stress analysis, fatigue, fitness-for-service/remaining life, fracture mechanics, piping vibration analysis. The main role of this position is to provide high level mechanical design support to new product/process development, innovation in existing technologies, understanding and resolution of operating problems, and other unique customer requests that require a high level analytical solutions and expertise for the refining and petrochemical industries.
