The Electrician is responsible for the maintenance and operation of all electrical and related equipment/systems. This role involves operating, maintaining, and repairing distribution and emergency power systems, as well as installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, switch distribution panels, and outlet boxes. The position requires a high level of expertise in maintaining critical electrical equipment such as emergency generators and high and low-voltage panel board networking systems. The Lead Facilities Electrician will analyze project electrical needs, determine designs, maintain tools, and carry out a preventive maintenance program on complex electrical equipment. Responsibilities include laying out and installing power circuits, making electrical calculations, maintaining automatic controls, switchboard distribution centers, and lighting circuits. The role also involves troubleshooting and repairing electrical apparatus, responding to electrical emergencies, and managing work assignments from planning to completion. Additionally, the position assists in monitoring contractors, inspecting work, and generating deficiency lists, while ensuring proper care of equipment, tools, and uniforms, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. The Lead Facilities Electrician will follow inspection and service procedures, coordinate preventive maintenance, and accurately complete repair work and related records. Regular inspections of the site/building(s) are required, along with reporting deficiencies and suggestions for improvements. Effective communication regarding building operations and conditions is essential, as is prompt reporting of potential or existing problems. The role requires availability for various shifts, including extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays, to ensure adequate building coverage and perform necessary repairs. This includes responding to after-hours emergencies such as fire, flooding, severe weather, and power outages, as well as participating in clean-up activities. The position promotes a high standard in property operation and appearance and fosters positive tenant relations through proactive communication and excellent customer service.
