About The Position

Boeing Global Services is searching for an F-18 Super Hornet Avionics Lead Technician willing to work day or split shift at Naval Air Station (NAS) Joint Reserve Base (JRB) New Orleans in Belle Chasse, Louisiana. The selected candidate will perform inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and operational support of aircraft egress systems and associated components in a professional maintenance environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience aircraft maintenance in a managerial or team lead role leading people and/or projects
  • Minimum of 1 year experience working with cross functional teams
  • Valid passport and travel internationally without restriction
  • Experience with F/A-18 or EA-18G operational maintenance
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • An interim U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start and final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Responsibilities

  • Directs daily maintenance actions, provides technical guidance to lower-level technicians, and oversees complex installations.
  • Performs, directs, and verifies maintenance on complex pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems to isolate faults.
  • Conducts and oversees daily, pre-flight, post-flight, and periodic inspections; ensures repairs meet flight safety standards.
  • Isolates malfunctions in flight control, communications, radar, navigation, and weapons integration systems using complex test equipment like oscilloscopes and pulse generators.
  • Performs and oversees the removal, installation, and repair of avionics components, including wire harnesses, fiber optics, and circuit cards.
  • Conducts daily pre- and post-flight inspections, as well as periodic periodic aircraft checks to verify flight-worthiness.
  • Prioritizes daily maintenance actions to meet flight schedules and coordinates with other departments to ensure timely aircraft flow.
  • Leads the assembly, disassembly and modification of systems by overseeing the change, removal, replacement or upgrade of aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes.
  • Oversees assembly, disassembly or overhaul.
  • Configures aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment.
  • Directs troubleshooting of complex pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components.
  • Oversees validation/verification testing of systems and components.
  • Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications and inspection results).
  • Inspects components and verifies repairs for flight worthiness requirements.
  • Leads and supervises others to perform tasks associated with the safe handling of an aerospace vehicle (e.g. jacking, towing, system operations).
  • Provides training and mentors others.
  • Works under minimal direction.
