About The Position
Garney Construction is seeking a Lead Excavator Operator for a position in Nashville, TN. This role involves operating machinery for various construction activities including excavating, backfilling, trenching, ditching, clearing, looming, fine grading, and final clean up. The operator may also perform laborer duties as needed. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating an excavator safely within a crew, performing operator-level maintenance on machinery, understanding safe working loads and signals, and handling trench boxes of various sizes and shapes.
Requirements
- Previous construction experience.
- Five years of operating experience with CAT 336 or bigger.
- Firm knowledge of equipment operations and maintenance.
- Must be able to work overtime.
- Must be willing to travel.
Responsibilities
- Operate an excavator safely as part of a crew.
- Perform operator level maintenance on the machine.
- Understand safe working loads and signals.
- Handle trench boxes of all sizes and shapes.
- Perform activities such as excavating, backfilling, trenching, ditching, clearing, looming, fine grading, and final clean up.
- Perform functions of a laborer as required.
