About The Position

Skillforce has teamed up with an industry-leading general contractor to hire a Lead Estimator for a long-term contract-to-permanent position in Louisville, Kentucky. The role is full time in the office, with minimal travel to project sites. The Lead Estimator will run the estimating department at a small- to medium-sized construction company and prepare estimates for restaurant and other commercial construction projects.

Requirements

At least 5 years of experience as a lead estimator.
10 years of experience in estimating for commercial new construction.
Strong proficiency with ComputerEase, FieldEase, Bluebeam, and MS Office Suite.
In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and cost structures.
Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
Ability to complete material takeoffs.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Oversee the estimating department.
Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for restaurant construction projects.
Perform material and quantity takeoffs from architectural and engineering drawings.
Analyze drawings, specifications, and proposals to develop comprehensive estimates.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather pricing and scope details.
Review and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes for accuracy and compliance.
Maintain and update cost databases and historical pricing information.
Support preconstruction efforts, bid submissions, and value engineering exercises.
Ensure estimates align with project schedules, budgets, and company standards.
