About The Position

This position assists managers with the daily operational housekeeping activities and monitors cleanliness standards in a healthcare environment. The role involves assisting with the direction of employee work schedules, supervising and allocating cleaning staff on daily housekeeping activities, such as cleaning patient rooms, facilities, and disposing of waste.
Requirements
- No formal education is required.
- Must fulfill the annual continuing education requirements of the department and facility including departmental meetings, safety education and mandatory in-services.
- Knowledge in general day-to-day housekeeping tasks in each of the various departments/areas of the facility.
- Responsible for following the cleaning policy and procedure for each department while following guidelines in the use of cleaning/sanitation chemicals.
Responsibilities
- Assists managers with the daily operational housekeeping activities.
- Monitors cleanliness standards in a healthcare environment.
- Assists with direction of employee work schedules.
- Supervises and allocates cleaning staff on daily housekeeping activities, such as cleaning patient rooms, facilities, and disposing of waste.
- Maintains and inventories stock to ensure that supplies and equipment are available in adequate amounts.
- Performs administrative tasks for ordering housekeeping supplies in a healthcare environment.
- Checks and maintains equipment to ensure that it is in working order.
- Monitors the use of cleaning agents and equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) in an appropriate way.
- Issues keys, clean linens, cleaning supplies, and equipment to cleaning staff.
- Ensures housekeeping processes are in accordance with healthcare organization and regulatory codes.
- May have access to use of Sanford applications depending upon location and availability of programs.
