About The Position

The Lead Environmental Services Technician will be responsible for maintaining a safe and clean work environment for employees and visitors. The lead position will be a point of contact for the department and provide support for any projects assigned by department leadership. This position is eligible to work onsite at our Topeka campus. Applicants must reside in Kansas or Missouri or be willing to relocate as a condition of employment.

Requirements

Ability to read and comprehend hazardous material safety instructions
Great communication and organizational skills
General knowledge of equipment and chemicals used in Environmental Service assignments
Respond to and resolve team issues in a professional manner when supervisor is not available
Ability to perform thorough and detailed inspections with a high degree of accuracy, identify potential issues and ensure adherence to established standards and procedures.
Communicate and reinforce departmental goals, expectations, and initiatives in support of leadership’s strategic direction while building team engagement, accountability, and commitment.
High school degree or equivalent
Experience of 2 years in Environmental Services or housekeeping functions in a large facility
Driver’s license required

Responsibilities

Responsible for daily tasks of an environmental services tech
Point of contact between evening shift and dept leadership
Point of contact for vendors when supervisor not available
Point of contact for BCBSKS employee requests
Fulfill supply requests for team members while keeping accurate inventory records and ensuring adequate stock levels to support operational needs.
Complete detailed inspections and reports on floor conditions
Responsible for team schedules and assignments if supervisor is not available
