SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars. This role involves leading and managing the day-to-day activities, priorities, and performance of the EHS construction safety team. The Lead EHS Engineer will be responsible for developing practical solutions to improve construction site safety, reduce incident rates, and drive contractor engagement. They will also review and approve purchase orders, manage the operational budget for construction safety programs, and provide training and technical guidance to direct reports and construction stakeholders. A key aspect of this role is ensuring consistent implementation of a robust construction safety program and holding regular Contractor Safety Steering Reviews to drive accountability. The position requires leading the implementation and maintenance of regulatory and site-specific occupational safety policies, conducting regular inspections, and performing compliance audits. Collaboration with project leadership, superintendents, and contractors is essential to ensure SpaceX construction safety standards and regulatory requirements are met.
