About The Position

The Lead Enterprise Architect will act as a senior technology generalist. The ideal candidate should possess the ability to architect technical solutions that drive and support strategic business processes, ensuring the solutions are comprehensive, robust, scalable, and aligned around core business needs. This role requires continuous demonstration of technology thought leadership and building collaborative relationships within business and IT teams based on integrity and clarity of purpose. The candidate will advocate for the reduction of technical debt associated with simplified solutions that deliver specific business outcomes, and evaluate and recommend technologies that solve business challenges, enhance customer and Team Member experience, and drive competitive advantage. The role involves active collaboration and communication across the BFS organization, acting as a facilitator, technology evangelist, innovator, and change agent. This role requires interaction at multiple levels, including working with frontline teams, corporate representatives, IT owners, and BFS leadership. The ideal candidate will be focused across all layers of technology including solution, application, and security architectures. This person is also responsible for technical mentoring of other IT peers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field; master’s degree preferred
  • 12+ years of progressive software engineering experience, including 8 years of hands-on experience working as a Technology/Application/Solution Architect implementing medium to large scale initiatives
  • At least 4 years of experience working in Enterprise Transformation initiatives like Legacy application modernization, Data & Information Transformation, App portfolio rationalization, AI / GenAI at scale (moving from pilots to production use across functions) and others that drove the business value for an Org.
  • At least 2 years of experience translating the requirements into actionable architectural designs and roadmaps that enable delivery and balance security, scalability, cost, and speed
  • Proven experience in architectural: Design and analyze the current and future state architectural designs, provide the best practices, recommendations and related value propositions
  • Deep expertise in modern application, data, and integration architectures
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with stakeholders to ensure the architecture meets business needs and IT requirements
  • Collaborate with other architects across the organization to ensure architectural consistency and alignment is met
  • Participate in Technical risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to and execute on BFS IT strategy to ensure alignment with the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Maintain a holistic view of the organization’s strategy, processes, information, and technology assets.
  • Lead architectural efforts for medium to large projects (e.g., a project module or existing technology map review) or complex components of projects.
  • Design and implement short and long-term strategic goals for managing and maintaining systems and software.
  • Create business, capability, and technology roadmaps.
  • Review compatibility and technical specifications of the current architecture to recommend appropriate, timely, and necessary improvements or enhancements.
  • Ensure the translation of integrated user requirements into effective solution architecture and design across products or systems.
  • Define and develop new system specifications, processes, and technologies.
  • Create systems interfaces and business application prototypes.
  • Analyze and resolve system design issues by considering infrastructure and technical performance.
  • Break down complex topics into manageable small steps that lead to incremental progress.
  • Understand and communicate downstream impacts of solution design changes and technical analytical findings to team and external stakeholders in concise business language.
  • Partner with business and technology subject experts to translate business requirements into technological solutions.
  • Document varying levels of architecture, strategy, guidelines, and principles.
  • Coordinate, review, and approve projects to ensure that they are compliant with architectural standards, policies, and guidelines.
  • Monitor and analyze industry, technology, and market trends to determine their potential impact or application for the organization.
  • Conduct research and Proofs of Concept on emerging technologies in support of anticipated development efforts and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and infrastructure flexibility.
