About The Position

The Lead Engineer will lead and influence the design, delivery, automation, and support of infrastructure services and solutions. This role also involves leading and influencing cross-functional teams and stakeholder relationships.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree (preferred) OR equivalent experience (required)
8+ years of relevant experience (required)
Working Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
Extensive Experience with effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Extensive Experience with the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
Working Knowledge of business concepts, tools, and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
Working Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization.
Basic Understanding of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
Extensive Experience with technical troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical issues on hardware, software, application or operation.
Extensive Experience with the features and facilities of systems; ability to integrate and communicate among applications, databases and technology platforms.
Working Knowledge of availability management; ability to utilize strategies and tools to ensure the timely availability of business data and applications.
Working Knowledge of agile methodologies and the agile development lifecycle; ability to utilize formal agile methodologies, disciplines, practices and techniques for the delivery of new and enhanced applications.
Extensive Experience with Information Technology (IT) systems; ability to utilize a variety of system tools, guarantee service availability, and ensure optimal IT system performance.
Working Knowledge of Information Technology (IT) standards and policies; ability to utilize a variety of administrative skill sets and technical knowledge to manage organizational IT policies, standards, and procedures.
Extensive Experience with emerging technologies; ability to design, apply and evaluate new information technologies for business environments.

Responsibilities

Independently builds, maintains, and documents infrastructure components for work assigned; performs reviews for all levels of engineer.
Designs solutions for the overall health, performance, and availability and actively works resolution of system and client experience impacts for one or more environments, applications, or platforms.
Assigns work, mentors, and trains junior engineers; welcomes and encourages upward feedback and perspectives from all levels of engineer.
Advocates for new technology and improvements that will reduce expenses and/or improve efficiency; works cross-functionally to find synergies.
Recommends and influences IT standards (e.g. info security, audit, compliance, etc.).
Assists in the development of strategies for building and maintaining new and existing solutions and capabilities.
Creates technical documentation, specifications, and project artifacts to deliver: mature monitoring, improved resiliency, and high availability.
Proposes high-level infrastructure architectural guidelines.
Formulates and designs technical solutions to meet business needs and communicates cross-functionally to ensure viability of solutions.
