GE Vernova•Wilmington, NC
•$98,400 - $188,600•Remote

About The Position

The Lead Engineer contributes to company objectives in reactor physics and technology and is intended to serve as a current or future subject matter expert in neutron transport, cross-section generation, and code development and maintenance. The role supports software documentation and validation, user training, and customer interfacing for the LANCR lattice physics codes and the PANAC 3D core simulator. The position is part of the Nuclear Methods team, responsible for development, maintenance, analytics, technical consultation, and licensing stewardship of engineering computer codes, correlations, and methodologies for Boiling Water Reactors and Small Modular Reactors. The team also supports customers with emergent questions involving reactor neutronics, thermal-hydraulics, and instrumentation physics, and contributes to the nuclear and thermal-hydraulic design of new fuel products. The role leads technical development, accuracy and uncertainty qualification, testing, verification, regulatory licensing, and maintenance of analytical methods for evaluating steady-state and transient core and fuel performance. It works within an approved regulatory framework for nuclear software quality assurance, prepares and presents technical information, supports users through documentation and training, and coordinates projects and technical work with teammates, customers, and regulatory agencies. The preferred location is the GVH Nuclear headquarters in Wilmington, North Carolina, with hybrid arrangements available; the Atlanta, Georgia hub is also an option. The posting also describes the position as remote.
