About The Position

LaBella is hiring a Lead Engineer in its Program Management Services Division, working at a client’s office. The division provides management services for complex projects and multi-year capital programs, combining business consulting, project management, financial control and monitoring, administrative support, and technical support. The role leads engineering work for substation projects, providing technical leadership on complex projects and serving as the team’s subject matter expert. The salary range is $75,000–$120,000; the specific offer may depend on relevant experience, education, and work location.

Requirements

5–10 years of engineering experience in the functional area.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology.
Professional Engineer (PE) license required.

Responsibilities

Oversee project engineering performance across all phases, including scoping and budgeting, conceptual engineering, contract management and design, engineering design, construction, and closeout.
Perform standard and complex engineering analyses, designs, and calculations.
Lead the creation of conceptual designs based on Avangrid standards and oversee external detailed designers to ensure consistency among operating companies.
Ensure engineering designs meet applicable company, local, state, and national codes and standards.
Use engineering knowledge to influence and guide department engineers.
Provide technical leadership on complex projects with broad business impact, and mentor, develop, and support the team’s technical skills.
Serve as the team’s subject matter expert.
Liaise with and direct contractors on company policies, standards, and best practices.
Work independently with little supervision.
