Lead Engineer - Software Engineering
About The Position
We are seeking a Lead Engineer to support the ongoing development of new and existing projects and applications. This role involves coding and modifying user-facing and backend features for web/microservice applications, troubleshooting code and implementation issues, and remediating security flaws. The Lead Engineer will build modern REST APIs, optimize applications for speed and scalability, and design and implement AI solutions in accordance with the AI Governance Model. This position requires active participation in Agile ceremonies, conducting code reviews, and collaborating with product partners and the Solution Architecture team to translate business requirements into digital solutions. The Lead Engineer will also work closely with UX and design resources, manage both FTE and outsourced engineering resources, and present innovations to senior leadership. Additionally, the role involves establishing standard operating procedures and monitoring emerging technologies for integration into company infrastructure.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or related field
- Five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in any occupation that includes the required experience and skills
- 5 years of experience in managing and mentoring engineering teams, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment
- 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer
- 5 years of experience with MS SQL Server
- 3 years of experience with non-SQL systems including MongoDB
- 5 years of experience with C#, .NET, NodeJS, and Typescript
- 5 years of experience with developing RESTful APIs
- 5 years of experience with AWS and Azure Cloud
- 5 years of experience with TFS and GIT or GitLab
- 5 years of experience with Angular/ Single Page Javascript frameworks
- 5 years of experience with Agile methodologies and project management
Responsibilities
- Support ongoing development of new and existing projects and applications
- Code and modify user-facing and backend features for web/microservice applications
- Troubleshoot code and implementation issues during performance testing cycles
- Remediate security flaws identified in code
- Build modern REST APIs
- Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability
- Design and implement AI solutions in accordance with the AI Governance Model to ensure compliance with ethical standards, security protocols, and regulatory requirements
- Participate in all Agile ceremonies including planning, grooming, product demonstration and team retrospectives
- Conduct code reviews with peers and managers to ensure adherence to original vision as described in the user story, standard resource libraries and architecture patterns
- Collaborate with product partners and Solution Architecture team to translate business requirements into digital solutions and develop product/ platform vision and roadmaps
- Work closely with UX and design resources to ensure the technical feasibility of designs while maintaining user-centric focus
- Work with both Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) employees and outsourced engineering resources to achieve desired outcomes and successful project results
- Present innovations and technical flows to engineering directors, architects and other senior leaders
- Establish and enforce standard operating procedures and project guidelines
- Monitor new emerging technologies, asserting their relevance, and integrating them into existing company infrastructure where appropriate
