About The Position

We are seeking a Lead Electrical / Power Electronics Engineer to serve as a technical authority for advanced high-voltage, high-power power electronics systems used in semiconductor and industrial applications. This role is focused on system architecture, platform strategy, and complex problem solving across multiple products. As a Lead Engineer, you will operate with broad autonomy and influence, guiding technical direction, setting engineering standards, and solving the most challenging power electronics problems in the organization. Success in this role is defined by system robustness, scalability, and long-term technology impact—not short-term firefighting.

Requirements

  • Expert-level experience in high-voltage and high-power switch-mode power supply (SMPS) design
  • Strong background in digitally controlled power systems using DSPs, microcontrollers, or FPGAs
  • Deep understanding of power conversion topologies, magnetics, insulation systems, thermal design, and high-voltage safety
  • Experience applying safety, EMC, and regulatory requirements in semiconductor or industrial environments
  • Proven ability to operate autonomously and make architecture-level technical decisions
  • Demonstrated ownership of complex systems across multiple product generations
  • Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills for ambiguous, cross-disciplinary problems
  • Ability to influence technical direction across teams without formal authority
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Fluent English communication (C2 proficiency preferred)
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in power electronics or electrical engineering product development (6 years with a Master’s degree)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field (required)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in semiconductor capital equipment, plasma systems, industrial power, or high-voltage applications strongly preferred
  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Electronics or Control Systems (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Define system-level architectures for high-voltage, high-power, digitally controlled switch-mode power supplies
  • Lead design trade-offs across topology, control strategy, magnetics, insulation, and thermal design
  • Establish best practices and design standards for power electronics and high-voltage systems across product lines
  • Develop and validate advanced simulation models for complex power systems, including plasma and highly dynamic loads
  • Guide digital power control strategies, working with firmware and control teams on stability, performance, and robustness
  • Provide deep technical expertise in root-cause analysis of complex electrical, control, and reliability issues
  • Provide technical oversight for multiple products or platforms from concept through production and field deployment
  • Partner with product management, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain to ensure scalable and manufacturable designs
  • Lead technical risk assessment and ensure compliance with applicable safety, EMC, and regulatory standards
  • Act as a senior technical interface with key customers, suppliers, and partners on system-level challenges
  • Influence technology roadmaps and long-term platform strategies in collaboration with engineering leadership
  • Mentor senior and junior engineers, raising the technical bar across the organization
  • Lead design and architecture reviews, providing clear technical direction without direct people management

Benefits

  • Medical - multiple medical plans are available to choose from
  • Short and long-term disability and life insurance
  • Health savings and flexible spending accounts
  • Generous time off policy starting with 3 weeks of paid vacation, 7 days of paid sick time, and 12 paid holidays
  • 8 hours of paid volunteer time off
  • 8 weeks of paid parental leave for both Moms and Dads
