This position is 100% onsite; no remote or hybrid option is available at this time. The Lead Engineer II – Expansion Design will lead the conceptual design and development of new turbine engine components. This includes defining component geometry, material selection, and functional performance requirements for new product programs. The role involves establishing product design specifications and engineering requirements, including tolerance schemes, performance criteria, and validation parameters, prior to release to manufacturing. The engineer will integrate design-for-manufacturability and design-to-cost principles at the conceptual stage to inform design decisions, without responsibility for developing or implementing manufacturing processes. They will develop original component designs for new product introductions and expansion programs, ensuring design requirements are fully defined before transitioning to manufacturing teams. The role requires preparing and owning engineering design documentation, including detailed component drawings, design models, and technical specifications for product release. The Lead Engineer will also lead formal engineering design reviews and approve design releases, ensuring all product requirements are satisfied before components are transferred to manufacturing. Defining validation strategies and performance testing requirements for newly designed components, including coordination with testing teams, is also a key responsibility. The position provides technical design direction during early-stage product development and initial production launch to ensure adherence to design intent, without involvement in production floor operations or process execution. Additionally, the role involves developing design standards, methodologies, and best practices for turbine engine component development, including guidance on performance, reliability, and cost considerations at the design level.
