About The Position

When a generator fails, the ripple effects reach far beyond a single plant — they impact grids, communities, and the people who depend on reliable power. As a Lead Engineer in Generator Product Service, you are the technical anchor that customers and global teams turn to when it matters most. You bring deep expertise in generator and electrical systems, a calm hand in high-pressure situations, and the instinct to dig until you find the root cause — and fix it for good. This is a role for someone who wants to own hard problems end-to-end, grow others around them, and represent GE Vernova's commitment to technical excellence in front of customers and industry peers alike.

Requirements

  • Technically credentialed engineer with hands-on experience in generator systems.
  • Track record of solving complex problems in customer-facing environments.
  • Communication skills to make technical complexity accessible to any audience.
  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in generator engineering and technology.
  • Willingness to travel 10–15% domestically and internationally, including on short notice, and to support off-hours or weekend emergency response as business needs arise.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Materials, or Systems Engineering — or an M.B.A. (Master of Business Administration)
  • Six Sigma or Lean training and/or certification
  • Prior experience in a customer-facing or commercial support role, with demonstrated ability to anticipate customer needs and translate them into technical action
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously and drive cross-functional initiatives to completion

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical investigations from initial fault identification through corrective action and prevention (CAPA) — resolving complex generator and electrical system issues with meaningful fleet-wide impact.
  • Serve as the technical authority for generator and electrical system designs, ensuring all components meet customer and engineering requirements while coordinating with manufacturing, sourcing, quality, and design engineering teams.
  • Be the face of GE Vernova's technical expertise — attending customer sites, supporting outages, presenting at industry conferences and user groups, and providing commercial teams with technical input for proposals and bids.
  • Author and publish technical communications including Technical Information Letters (TILs), Product Service Safety Bulletins (PSSBs), Product Service Information Bulletins (PSIBs), and safety alerts that keep customers informed and equipment running safely.
  • Support strategic programs including service fulfillment and New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives, communicating progress across all levels — from plant operators to executive leadership.
  • Mentor and develop a team of generator and electrical systems product service engineers, sharing knowledge and building capability across the organization.
