The Lead Data Engineer for Enterprise Data at Chipotle will be an active participant and driver in building the innovative enterprise data solution leveraging both cloud and on-prem technologies. Responsibilities include building data engineering solutions and processes to enable analytics, business intelligence, MDM and mobility. This role will be responsible for designing new data pipelines to leverage data at scale, coaching best development standards and practices, and supporting development teams to ensure successful delivery. LOCATION This position will be based in our Columbus, OH office 4 days per week (with work from home on Friday). Remote work is not available for this role.

Requirements

  • Have a B.A./B.S. and 5-8 years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent in education and experience preferred.
  • Hands on experience with Microsoft Stack – SSIS/SSAS/SQL Server.
  • 2+ years of experience with Cloud platform technologies particularly using Azure Services (ADLS, ADF, etc.), Snowflake, DBT, FiveTran, etc.
  • Experience with MPP platform and data modernization initiatives using PaaS/SaaS services.
  • Experience with data models (relational, Star schema, Data vault, Document, etc.).
  • Experience working with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tooling using Azure Dev Ops.
  • Possess strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze raw data, draw conclusions and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Have excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Be highly motivated and flexible.
  • Effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously and pay close attention to detail.
  • Manage financial information in a confidential and professional manner.
  • Proven track-record of excellence and consistently delivered past project successfully.

Responsibilities

  • Actively engage in technology discovery and implementation for both our Cloud (i.e. Azure, Snowflake, etc.) and on-prem platforms to build solutions for future architecture and systems.
  • Assist in leading code reviews, champion best practices and standards, and support team members through coaching, troubleshooting, and training.
  • Provide logical and physical data design, and database modeling.
  • Provide end-to-end support for solution integration (Data Pipelines), including designing, developing, deploying, and supporting solutions for existing platforms.
  • Perform gap analysis on current state and help define the new data architecture.
  • Manage code versions and deployment processes in source control and coordinate changes across teams.
  • Participate in architectural design and discussions to help evaluate new technology, patterns and processes.
  • Work with team members to solve complex data issues around data integration, unusable data elements, unstructured data sets, and other data processing incidents.
  • Partner with enterprise teams, data scientists, architects to define design requirements and solutions.
