The Advanced Programs (AP) section within GE’s Edison Works is responsible for the invention, design, development, vehicle integration, testing, and support of advanced technologies and new and derivative engine concepts. Its technology focus areas include military inlet and exhaust systems, integrated propulsion, power and thermal management systems, advanced material systems, and other breakthrough component and propulsion system technologies aimed at advanced military applications. The Advanced Programs Aerodynamic Design Lead Engineer is responsible for leading the invention, aerodynamic design, development, integration, and testing of advanced military propulsion technologies, with a focus on augmentors, exhaust nozzles, inlets, and exhaust aero systems. This role drives conceptual and detailed aerodynamic design, including flow path development, non-reacting and reacting CFD analysis, and rig and engine test support, while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams to mature technologies from early concepts into fielded solutions for advanced military applications. Operating in a mission-based, fast-paced environment, the Lead Engineer provides technical leadership to small and cross-functional teams, contributing to breakthrough propulsion, power, and thermal management systems that advance the future of military aviation.
