Lead Employment Specialist / Job Coach
About The Position
RISE Services is expanding its supported employment services in Rhode Island and is seeking an experienced Employment Specialist or Job Coach to become one of our first local team members in the East Bay region. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with individuals with disabilities but is also interested in growing into a leadership role as the program expands. We are beginning with a small Rhode Island caseload. The position will start part-time, with hours expected to increase as additional referrals are received and services expand. As the program grows, the successful candidate may have the opportunity to take on increased responsibility for new staff, referral relationships, service coordination, and regional program operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in human services, social work, counseling, rehabilitation, psychology, education, or a related field plus at least three years of relevant experience; OR High school diploma or equivalent plus at least five years of relevant experience.
- Relevant experience may include supported employment, vocational rehabilitation, disability services, employment services, job coaching, transition services, or a related field.
- A valid driver's license.
- Reliable personal transportation.
- Required automobile insurance.
- Ability to travel throughout the East Bay region.
- Ability to transport clients when required.
- Ability to complete required background checks, screenings, and training.
- Basic proficiency with computers and web-based documentation systems.

Responsibilities
- Providing direct employment services to individuals with disabilities, including career exploration and employment preparation, job searching and job development, connecting with local employers, job placement, job coaching and workplace support, and employment-retention services.
- Helping clients identify employment goals and overcome barriers to employment.
- Communicating with clients, families, employers, and referral partners.
- Completing accurate and timely service documentation.
- Providing services in community settings such as client homes, workplaces, employer locations, and other locations throughout the East Bay region.
- Helping coordinate services and client coverage.
- Supporting and mentoring newly hired Employment Specialists.
- Developing relationships with Rhode Island ORS and other referral partners.
- Building relationships with local employers.
- Participating in community and transition meetings.
- Helping monitor documentation and service quality.
- Assisting with the continued development of RISE Services' Rhode Island employment program.
