About The Position

We are looking for a Lead Electronics Technician to own the day to day operations of our electronics lab in Kirkland, Washington. This role is hands on and high impact. You will troubleshoot and repair complex assemblies to the component level, partner with engineers on new product bring up, and serve as the technical anchor for junior technicians on the team. You will operate with minimal supervision and bring the technical depth and communication skills needed to get things done right.

Requirements

  • Seven or more years of experience in a high reliability, compliance focused industry such as aerospace, defense, or medical.
  • Deep working knowledge of circuit boards, electronic equipment, and highly integrated systems, including FPGAs and microcontrollers.
  • Experience with digital signal processing circuits, including high speed video and audio signals.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, drawings, test procedures, specifications, BOMs, and related engineering documentation.
  • Proficient soldering skills aligned with IPC A 610 workmanship standards.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills with the ability to instruct, collaborate, and interact effectively across teams.
  • Self directed, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
  • AA degree in Electronic Technology or equivalent knowledge through experience or recognized education.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of Teams, Slack, Jira, Confluence, or similar collaboration tools.
  • Experience supporting electronics lab operations in an aerospace or high reliability manufacturing environment.
  • Experience mentoring junior technicians or serving as a technical lead within a lab or production support team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform in depth troubleshooting of complex functional failures to the component level on electronic and electro mechanical assemblies.
  • Apply root cause analysis methodology to identify the cause of issues, not just replace parts.
  • Execute component level repairs in accordance with J STD 001 and IPC A 610 standards.
  • Perform assembly operations on proof of concept devices, repaired units, test equipment, and small production runs using engineering documentation.
  • Partner with electronics engineers on new assembly bring up and troubleshooting.
  • Perform manual testing and interpret results from standard and special purpose test equipment, including multimeters, signal generators, power supplies, bridges, and oscilloscopes.
  • Execute automated testing using a variety of ATE and special test consoles on newly manufactured products and product returns.
  • Build and/or modify test equipment and test racks as needed.
  • Document findings clearly and accurately, including testing performed, observed failures, and root cause investigation results.
  • Oversee day to day lab operations and step in to solve issues as they arise.
  • Serve as a technical resource and mentor for junior technicians by sharing expertise, building capability, and helping solve challenging problems.
  • Collaborate directly with engineers, manufacturers, and customers with professionalism and clarity.
