The Lead Electrician is responsible for leading and performing installations, alterations, additions, and/or repairs of electrical systems, conductors, and associated materials and equipment within the residential, commercial, and industrial electrical industry. This role involves on-site management and safety of assigned construction tasks and projects, as well as supervising assigned field personnel to ensure projects are completed within established budget, time, and quality standards, while adhering to standard operating procedures and all NEC state and local codes. The Lead Electrician coordinates field installations and project close-outs, and develops and maintains customer/client relationships. The position requires the use of Gaylor Values in all job responsibilities, understanding and complying with Company and job safety requirements (O.S.H.A.), and enforcing these standards within the crew. It also involves communicating the importance of proper interpretation and enforcement of Company policies and guidelines, and understanding and enforcing compliance with NEC, state, and local codes. The Lead Electrician must understand and be able to perform or demonstrate all Journeyperson skills, possess technical and safety knowledge, and have the ability to work with live/energized parts. They are expected to demonstrate and enforce the proper use and safe handling of tools, equipment, and materials, clearly understand the scope of work including other trades' responsibilities, and possess knowledge of blueprints and shop drawings to visualize completed work prior to installation. Collaboration with field personnel and support staff is also a key aspect of the role.
