About The Position

As Lead Electrical Estimator, you directly influence the success of every project. Your work ensures bids and proposals are accurate, resource planning is efficient, and project budgets are realistic — preventing cost overruns and enabling smooth project delivery. The Lead Electrical Estimator forecasts project costs by reviewing project drawings and specifications, compiling data, and preparing detailed estimates. You will create professional bids, budget proposals, and design/build estimates aligned with company standards. Critical thinking, initiative, and operational awareness are essential to success.

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in commercial electrical cost estimation.
  • Strong track record in cost estimation, bid preparation, and budgeting.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical plans and drawings.
  • Proficiency (or willingness to learn) with estimation tools/software and MS Office.
  • Excellent English communication skills — written, verbal, and mathematical/logical reasoning.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to work EST hours with at least 6‑hour overlap.
  • Alignment with company standards, values, and quality expectations.
  • Pass required background check (and any required drug test or screening).

Responsibilities

  • Estimate project costs — materials, labor, equipment, services.
  • Prepare detailed bids, budget proposals, and design/build estimates.
  • Analyze electrical plans and specifications across trades to ensure requirements are met.
  • Allocate resources (materials, labor, tools, transport) within budget constraints.
  • Manage pricing adjustments and change orders throughout project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with vendors/suppliers to resolve material orders and supply issues professionally.
  • Assist in project oversight: define staffing needs, outline project plans, set deadlines, and evaluate performance.
  • Maintain high-quality output and proactively identify improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate independently and within a team to achieve project goals.
  • Use industry-standard estimation and project management tools/software (Accubid, Procore, Planswift, on-screen take-off, leveling sheets, MS Office).
