About The Position

Reporting directly to the Senior Manager of Electrical Plant Support Engineering, the Lead Electrical Engineer will be responsible for leading and/or supporting the activities of the electrical plant support engineering team. The scope covers mostly operations and maintenance support in addition to aid for the design team for all electrical aspects of the Thermomechanical Treatment Facilities (TTF) process at 35+ facilities globally. This includes all High, Medium, and Low Voltage Electrical Systems E.g. Switchgears, Relay Protection, Transformers, Motor Control Centers, etc. The troubleshooting of this electrical infrastructure supports all disciplines including steam generation boilers and their auxiliaries, feedwater pumps, deaerator systems, condensers, air pollution control equipment, ash handling and conveying equipment, metals recovery systems, etc. The Lead Engineer will provide technical resolution and troubleshooting guidance to plant and maintenance teams in support of emergent or on-going challenges. They will also own root cause analyses for larger issues and as a part of this derive and support implementation of corrective and preventative actions for the Covanta installed fleet. Acting as a potential mentor for more junior members of the team, the Lead Engineer will share best practices and technical expertise. Although this is a corporate engineering role, it involves extensive collaboration with sites, hence ~30% travel should be expected.
