Sargent & Lundy•Metairie, LA
•Hybrid

About The Position

The Lead Electrical Engineer will lead a group delivering electrical engineering work for single- and multi-discipline nuclear power projects. The position includes investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving a wide range of electrical engineering issues, leading detailed design, and coordinating interfaces with other disciplines and clients. The role is hybrid, with three days per week in the office and two days working remotely. The engineer will oversee electrical engineering activities for complex modifications at nuclear power plants, including design change packages, calculations, procurement specifications, and vendor bid reviews. The role also includes developing project scopes, estimates, schedules, and proposals; coordinating project deliverables; maintaining project controls; and supporting client satisfaction and follow-on business. The engineer will mentor group members and provide technical oversight throughout project design phases. The position is part of Sargent & Lundy's Nuclear Power Group, which works on nuclear engineering, design, and licensing, including existing plant life extensions and modernization, advanced reactor technologies, small modular reactors, reactor restart projects, coal-to-nuclear initiatives, and international new-build projects. Sargent & Lundy describes its work as supporting clean, carbon-free energy and reducing emissions.
