A role in Engineering within Store Design offers the opportunity to apply your technical expertise to complex building systems that directly impact the safety, reliability, sustainability, and long-term performance of Target's facilities. Working alongside cross-functional partners and industry experts, you'll help establish engineering standards, influence enterprise design strategies, and deliver solutions that support Target's continued growth. As a Lead Electrical Engineer, you will serve as an enterprise technical expert responsible for the strategy, design, development, and implementation of electrical systems across Target's Retail Stores, Supply Chain facilities, and Headquarters locations. You will establish enterprise electrical design standards while providing technical leadership for power distribution, standby power systems, renewable energy initiatives, lighting, controls, and electrical infrastructure. Working with internal partners and external engineering consultants, you will ensure electrical systems meet Target's performance, safety, sustainability, resiliency, and operational objectives. You will evaluate emerging technologies, influence long-term electrical strategies, mentor engineers, and drive continuous improvement across Target's engineering practice. Requirements

Four-year degree in Electrical Engineering from an Accreditation Board for Engineering & Technology (ABET) program
7+ years of experience with a consultant engineering firm, contractor or a manufacturer of building engineered systems
Professional Engineer or the ability to become registered within the next 12 months.
Proficient in the electrical designs that include Electrical Distribution, Generators, Lighting, Fire Alarm and Electrical Systems
Knowledgeable in the operation of commercial building engineered systems
Possess well-developed knowledge of commercial building design and construction processes
Ability to use CAD and Building Information Modeling (BIM) software, including Autodesk Revit, in the development and review of construction documents.
Ability to effectively work with discipline-specific engineering software programs and project management applications
Practical knowledge of the design and application of discipline-specific products
Ability to negotiate effectively to achieve agreements that all parties can support
Ability to synthesize complex information from a variety of sources and use that information to make informed decisions
Ability and desire to seek out technical training opportunities to increase skills
Ability to champion ideas with confidence and ensure that difficult problems are addressed
Ability to lead multi-discipline teams to accomplish goals and to ensure that all viewpoints are considered by the team

Responsibilities

Serve as an enterprise technical expert responsible for the strategy, design, development, and implementation of electrical systems across Target's Retail Stores, Supply Chain facilities, and Headquarters locations.
Establish enterprise electrical design standards.
Provide technical leadership for power distribution, standby power systems, renewable energy initiatives, lighting, controls, and electrical infrastructure.
Ensure electrical systems meet Target's performance, safety, sustainability, resiliency, and operational objectives by working with internal partners and external engineering consultants.
