We’re looking for a Lead Electrical Controls Engineer with a strong background in PLC programming, automation, and control systems, along with proven experience guiding and developing engineering talent. Requirements

  • Experience designing, programming, and implementing control systems for industrial applications.
  • Hands-on experience with RSLogix, Studio 5000, Siemens TIA Portal, or similar platforms is a must.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical or comparable design software, Microsoft Excel/Word/Outlook.
  • Proven experience leading engineers, mentoring team members, or managing technical teams.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve electrical and automation-related issues.
  • Works independently with a high level of integrity and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a professional presence when working with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Takes accountability for team performance, project outcomes, and continuous improvement.
  • Comfortable remaining hands-on while leading others.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day to day technical leadership for electrical engineers and designers, ensuring quality, consistency, and efficiency across projects.
  • Lead the design and development of electrical control systems based on customer specifications, selecting components and defining testing methods.
  • Oversee development, troubleshooting, and optimization of PLC and HMI programs to ensure reliable automation performance.
  • Drive resolution of complex technical challenges and establish scalable, long term solutions.
  • Ensure all designs meet UL 508A, NEC, IEC, and internal engineering standards.
  • Coach and develop engineers through regular feedback, technical guidance, and career development support.
  • Assist in prioritization, delegation, and balancing of engineering resources across projects.
  • Lead Design Reviews and drive continuous improvement of engineering processes, templates, and standards.
  • Act as a senior technical point of contact with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to deliver best in class solutions.
