Requirements

Five (5) plus year experience managing IT (infrastructure planning & engineering) projects, preferably in a health care organization.
Solid grasp of data communication buildouts, cabling scopes, and hardware orders.
High School Diploma/GED required.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in health care, information technology, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

Planning and coordinating all activities necessary to implement various information systems, including managing system requirements definition, process and/or workflow redesign, vendor evaluation and contract negotiation (if applicable), implementation coordination with operations and other EIS departments, as well as transition to support functions.
Developing and managing detailed project budgets and schedules, status reports, project Power Point presentations, and escalation of critical issues.
Coordinating communication between all project team members and operational partners, ensuring vendor responsiveness and compliance with the terms of the contract (if applicable), and coordinating initial user training/transition to an ongoing user support group.
Providing project management expertise for entire project life cycle, including facilitating system requirements definition, process and/or workflow redesign, business case development, Request for Proposal development, vendor evaluation and selection, and contract negotiation and development.
Ensuring contract compliance, risk analysis, project scope, implementation management, and support transition.
Working with operational partners in developing and planning the project timeline including all project phases-requirements, workflow, Q/A and testing, end-user training, go-live readiness and support.
Projecting resource requirements, ensuring appropriate assignment of resources to each project/support phase, adding and deleting resources as necessary, and has overall responsibility for completion of the project.
Leading and managing the project within established time and budget parameters.
Providing informative and timely status reports using department reporting procedures for both internal EIS and external operational customers.
Keeping abreast of current trends and developments in the field through participation with vendor user groups, attending conferences, vendor demonstrations, and interacting with other vendor customers.
Maintaining a strong understanding of system development and project management methodologies.
Responding thoroughly and promptly to customer needs as defined in conjunction with customers.
Assuming ownership of customer relationships and following issues through to closure.
