About The Position

Requirements

  • Preschool Lead: 90 clock hours in Child Development and Curriculum Planning accompanied by 1 year's experience in a licensed preschool classroom. This required experience may be replaced by 1 year of college (30 semester hours) or a combination of classroom experience & college hours.
  • Additionally, 9 clock hours of training in communicating with staff, parents, and the public is also required.
  • MD State Credential Level 5
  • Infant/Toddler Lead: 90 clock hours in Child Development and Curriculum Planning plus 45 clock hours of Infant/Toddler Training OR 90 clock hours Infant/Toddler Child Development and Curriculum.
  • Additionally, 9 clock hours of training in communicating with staff, parents, and the public is also required if candidate has had no college coursework at all.
  • MD state credential Level 5
  • School Age Lead: 45 clock hours Child Development (birth through school-age), 45 clock hours Curriculum for School Age Care, the 9 clock hours of training in communicating with staff, parents, and the public, and 400 hours of experience with School children or 1 year of college (30 semester hours) will also be given consideration on a case by case basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Those with an AA or BA in early childhood education or an AA or BA in an unrelated field + the above requirements preferred.
  • AA degree (or college credit equivalent) in Early Childhood Education or higher is preferred.
  • AA(or credit equivalent) degree in Elementary Education, Psychology, Child Development, Family Studies or a similar discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a classroom that delivers a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment
  • Create and implement dynamic, age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with Celebree curriculum
  • Manage smooth and effective transitions and routines
  • Maintain classroom compliance with MSDE-OCC regulations and brand standards
  • Build strong relationships with families through clear, positive communication
  • Learn how to support daily school operations and transitions, ensuring safety and supervision
  • Identify opportunities for improvement within your classroom and others you may coach
  • Assist leadership in maintaining compliance, safety, and consistency
  • Step in as a leader of the building when needed
  • Complete Celebree Careers Pathway Program
