Requirements

  • Associate's or bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Cardiovascular Technology, or a related field.
  • Completion of an accredited echocardiography program.
  • ARDMS or CCI credential required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certified from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) upon hire and maintain current.
  • Proficiency in performing a variety of echocardiographic procedures.
  • Certification in echocardiography (e.g., RDCS, RCS) from a recognized professional organization.
  • Familiarity with the latest echocardiography technologies and software.

Nice To Haves

  • Typically, 3-5 years of experience in echocardiography.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Ongoing professional development through workshops, seminars, and conferences related to cardiac imaging.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the echocardiography department; ECHO Tech I/II, & students, ensuring the delivery of high-quality cardiac imaging services.
  • Performing complex echocardiograms, training, and mentoring junior staff, and maintaining equipment and protocols.
  • Collaborating closely with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate diagnostic information.
  • Managing workflow, implementing best practices, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and contributing to departmental initiatives aimed at improving patient care and operational efficiency.
