As a Lead Dockworker, you’ll guide a team of dock workers in daily operations, ensuring freight is handled safely, efficiently and accurately. You’ll be a key player in keeping our warehouse running smoothly all while helping your team grow and succeed.

Requirements

  • 4 years of warehouse experience
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Microsoft Office experience and proficiency
  • Availability to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings and weekends
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Solid leadership skills; able to coach and mentor team members
  • Experience in a supervisory role
  • Solid math skills and analytical ability

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the dock team in loading and unloading freight using manual and powered equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts
  • Assign tasks and monitor performance to ensure productivity, accuracy and safety standards are met
  • Train team members on proper equipment use, safety procedures and best practices
  • Help organize freight on the dock according to destination and priority, ensuring accurate handling and documentation
  • Communicate clearly with dispatchers, drivers, and warehouse staff to coordinate freight movement
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with merchandise reconciliation
  • Keep the dock clean, safe, and well-stocked with tools and supplies
  • Identify and resolve operational challenges, addressing performance issues as needed
