About The Position

Lead Distribution & Logistics Specialists are responsible for performing and controlling a combination of manual or automated tasks necessary for the receipt, storage, and shipment of product at the local level. This may include functions of receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transportation, storage, and delivery. You will also be responsible for the efficient flow of products from the point of product request to the receipt from vendors. The primary areas you will be responsible for performing the above tasks are: Store Room, Point of Use Delivery, Logistical Operations, and Other areas as assigned. This position will lead up to 6 specialists in one of the above areas within the Distribution & Logistics function. This position reports directly to the Manager, Distribution and Logistics. The role requires experience and demonstrated ability to work across departmental lines to complete tasks in the most efficient manner possible. Exceptional initiative is crucial to this role, strong interpersonal capabilities, and the ability to meet productivity and quality requirements will be necessary to ensure that the individual is successful.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate
  • 3 or more years of related experience in a fast-paced environment; customer service, and distribution.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to speak and understand English.
  • Ability to work and adapt in a fast and dynamic organization.
  • Maintain proficiency for departmental and system training requirements.
  • Interpersonal, organizational and follow up skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Some college courses in a related field of study.
  • 1 or more years of Lean experience.
  • 1 or more years of experience in a healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

  • Training new employees on company and departmental procedures as appropriate.
  • Ensuring that safety, productivity, and quality standards are met.
  • Coordinating housekeeping and inventory control activities.
  • Works with minimal supervision; expected to make decisions within established guidelines.
  • Provides effective coaching and feedback to team members that you are responsible for; works with manager to complete annual evaluation.
  • Applies extensive knowledge of departmental policies to complete a wide range of assignments; store room, point of use, logistics and other areas as assigned.
  • Takes the lead in effectively applying new processes and skills in accomplishing assignments.
  • Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) when creating or processing requisitions, picking orders, performing quality checks, sorting and consolidating freight, packing, loading, receiving, put-away, replenishment, and the preparing of orders for delivery.
  • Responsible for the local processing of requisitions for tissue, implants, consignment, and supplies as needed; ensuring that all system guidelines are followed.
  • Responsible for the efficient flow of products from the point of requisition to the actual delivery of products to a variety of internal and external customers; ensure that the customer has what is needed, when it's needed.
  • Performs other duties and/or participates in projects as assigned by your manager or other management team members.
  • Self-motivated with ability to work in a team-oriented environment with limited supervision and an emphasis on customer satisfaction.
  • Aptitude to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting established distribution goals and performance standards.
  • Responsible for cross-training in multiple areas of Distribution and Logistics area(s); Store Room, Point of Use, and Logistics.
  • Ability to effectively use Microsoft office products and perform general computer skills.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime hours as necessary due to business needs.
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
