And we do it all with heart, each and every day. Position Summary: As the Lead Director of Aetna Campaigns and Communications, you will partner with and report to the Head of Communications, Aetna. This is a visible role, spanning the clinical, technology, provider and broader operations team to shape a distinctive Aetna narrative and build holistic, multi-channel communications campaigns. The successful candidate will have experience working with companies in transformation and can seamlessly weave an executive platform into a business narrative under one, unified communications program. This role will serve as a combination of outside-in thinker, strategic partner, campaign leader and – at times – roll-up your sleeves doer. You will have partnership accountability to multiple leaders and responsibility to advance the work in a matrixed environment. More specifically, the remit includes but is not limited to competitive tracking, external trend spotting, transformation storytelling, modern content development across Earned, Owned and Social channels, campaign management and reporting. Candidate must be based in the Northeast area You will accomplish this by: Working to achieve operational, functional, and business targets with measurable impact on progress against goals for the Aetna business. Leading cross-Aetna initiatives and managing integrated teams that span communications, marketing, business enablement and other partners Thinking collaboratively while acting with urgency. Simplifying complex clinical, technological and operational content into compelling, channel-appropriate communications that resonant to key stakeholder audiences. Creating strategies that engage internal and external stakeholders, by developing Aetna enterprise-wide storytelling and amplifying those stories across Owned, Earned and Social channels. Leading, managing and mentoring junior colleagues, including their direct reports and across the Communications function, by knowing when to work together, when to coach through the process and when to let go.

Requirements

  • 10 or more years of communications experience
  • Healthcare, Technology and/or Clinical communications experience
  • 3 or more years of exceptional people management experience with a personal commitment to continuous mentorship and professional development
  • Willingness to travel as business requires

Nice To Haves

  • Consulting and/or Communications agency experience
  • Experience leading initiatives in companies at key moments of transformation.
  • Adept at strategic planning, campaign management and hands-on execution, including but not limited to Campaign strategy presentations, Key Messaging documents, Cross-channel content plans, and Campaign Measurement & Summary reports
  • Foundational internal and external communications skills including but not limited to business and financial acumen, strategic planning, executive communications, events management, communications materials creation, writing, social media and measurement.
  • Executive presence, solutions-based mindset and track record of leading enterprise-wide campaigns in matrixed organizations.
  • Ability to toggle between strategy and execution seamlessly and manage multiple projects at pace.
